
We've all had that quiet car ride home. . .
The one after you lost a match you shouldn't have lost. The one where you played nowhere near as well as you typically do.
And the thing that makes it hurt more? It keeps happening, and you're not sure why.
Now, here's what most players do with that feeling. Some blame the wind, some blame their partner, some blame the bad bounce early in the match. And sure, maybe those things happened.
But the honest players, and I think if you're reading this, you're one of them, already know the truth.
You played scared.
And the problem often isn't that you won't look in the mirror. The problem is that you do look in the mirror, see exactly what happened, but still don't know what to change.
So you do what you've always done.
You go back out and play more, hoping things will be different next time.
But in my experience playing over 50 tournaments in the last 4 years, reps absolutely help, but they're not enough. Trust me, I’ve drilled to the point of exhaustion and still found myself leaving the next tournament disappointed.
It's painful.
And it wasn't until I fully committed to training my mind that things began to change.
Now, before I go further, read this, as it's one of my favorite speeches ever, and then I have a thought for you.

Here's what I want you to hear:
You are already in the arena.
(And if you're not quite yet, get in there. 😄)
Every time you walk onto that court, especially in leagues or tournaments, you are daring greatly. You are putting yourself at risk of feeling exactly what we just talked about.
And to me, that's one of the most courageous things you can do. So well done, I mean that!
But here's the other side of it. Being brave enough to show up is big, but it isn't the whole answer. Because you can dare greatly and still fall apart in the moment. You can be all in and still play scared.
And then what?
Well, that "then what" is the exact reason I built the 21-Day Mindset Reset Challenge. To give myself and players like you a real solution.
