SOOO...

I mentioned a while back that Selkirk had invested heavily in new equipment to build the next generation of paddles.

What I didn’t realize was. . . that they would drop another incredible paddle this quickly.

The truth is, it feels a little strange talking about another Selkirk paddle just a month after telling you how amazing the SLK Era is. And I say “is” intentionally, because when it launched, I truly believed it was Selkirk’s best paddle.

In fact, in my very first tournament with it, I won silver at the APP Newport Beach Open. And I know the paddle played a huge role in that result.

Then, just a few weeks ago, I flew out to Selkirk HQ… and they handed me what they’re calling the Ferrari of pickleball paddles.

It looked awesome and I was hearing the hype from other people at the event. But I was still skeptical because I really do love the ERA.

And I really didn’t want to go through the process of getting used to another paddle.

But after testing it?

🤯

I’m 100% in, for two reasons…

#1 - 14% more power than the ERA.
I used to roll my eyes at stats like that… until I saw Selkirk’s new testing setup in person. These numbers are legit.

(Just to put it in perspective—if your last paddle hit at 50 mph, this one’s hitting at 57 mph (14% more)

#2 - It brings back Infinigrit.
For my game, that textured surface makes a big difference. I can hit a few shots with this paddle that I just couldn’t hit with the ERA. It grabs the ball in a different way, and gives me more spin and control. (here’s what I mean)

And If you ever used Infinigrit paddles, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

In fact, after watching this video (click to watch video on IG), a friend sent me this text:

Now look. . .

At $333, the Boomstik is an investment. And if you just picked up an ERA, it's still a great paddle! Don’t change just to change.

But here’s how I think about it:

Selkirk paddles are built like tanks. They’re extremely durable, and they back it up with a lifetime warranty. So yes, it’s a premium price tag, but it will last.

And for me, the decision comes down to this:
Last month, I lost 11-8 in finals, in game 3 of a big tournament.

So if a paddle gives me even a 1% edge, I’m making the change.
And the Boomstik feels like way more than a 1% upgrade.

To me, this is easily the best paddle Selkirk’s ever made.

In closing, if you have any questions about the paddle or making the switch, don’t hesitate to reply to this email and ask. 🙂
